Former President Donald Trump accused Vice President Kamala Harris of being a stone-cold “Marxist” at Tuesday night’s debate, but also accused her of throwing out her real policies to embrace MAGA. During a back-and-forth on the economy, Trump accused Harris of copying “MAGA” policies, but also of being a Marxist communist at heart. He accused her of changing positions she held only a few years ago. The vice president has flip flopped on some positions, like in 2019 when she endorsed a ban on fracking. Trump joked he almost sent Harris a “MAGA hat” based on her new positions. He also accused Harris of being a “Marxist,” earning a shocked laugh from Harris. “Everything that she believed three years ago and four years ago is out the window. She’s going to my philosophy now. In fact, I was going to send her a MAGA hat. She’s gone to my philosophy, but if she ever got elected, she’d change it and it will be the end of our country. She’s a Marxist, and everybody knows she’s a Marxist,” Trump said. “Trump did not specify immediately what he was referring to, but Harris endorsed a no tax on tips policy following Trump recently and the former president has also noted before that President Joe Biden’s administration has upped tariffs in the last four years, something that is central to his economic plan for a potential second term. Harris argued at the debate such taxes on foreign imports would lead to rising costs passed onto U.S. consumers.
