MSNBC national political correspondent Steve Kornacki argued Vice President Kamala Harris’s polling lead over former President Donald Trump may give her the advantage at the moment, but the former president is not in “unfamiliar territory.” According to an aggregation of national polls, Kornacki reported on Tuesday with MSNBC anchor Ana Cabrera that Harris is averaging 48% support compared to Trump’s 45% support. Democrats have seen a polling surge since President Joe Biden suspended his reelection effort, but Kornacki noted that Biden and Hillary Clinton had better polling leads at this same point in the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections.
