Trump Doubles Down on ‘Became a Black Person’ Attack on Kamala Harris

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump doubled down on his attack on Kamala Harris’s racial background at a press conference on Thursday. At a National Association of Black Journalists event last week, Trump said that he had known Vice President Harris for a “long time” and “she was always of Indian heritage.” “I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn black. And now she wants to be known as Black. So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?” he asked rhetorically. “I respect either one, but she obviously doesn’t because she was Indian all the way.
